Oxford is a conservation-area city, and your site should say so

Most Oxford building work happens inside a constraint. Jericho and Osney are almost entirely conservation area. North Oxford is dense with listed and locally listed stock. Headington and Cowley are terraces where the neighbours are close enough to object. Somebody searching for a builder here is not only asking whether you can build. They are asking whether you have dealt with the city council's planning department before and come out the other side.

That is the most useful thing an Oxford builder's site can demonstrate, and almost none of them do. Photographs of finished extensions look identical across every firm in the county. A short note naming the conservation area, the consent you obtained and how long it took separates you from everyone else on the first page.

The landlord market is a different customer entirely

Oxford has one of the highest concentrations of shared houses in the country and the city runs additional licensing across much of it. Landlords and letting agents buy differently from homeowners. They are repeat customers, they care about turnaround between tenancies, and they want to know you can work to a fixed window in August so a house is ready for October.
